EMBRACING KINGDOM RESPONSIBILITY
GRACE TONIC
WEEK 8: FEBRUARY 19TH, 2024
TOPIC: EMBRACING KINGDOM RESPONSIBILITY
TEXT: 2 PETER 1:10 (NLT)
So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.
The sign of maturity in your walk with God is to seek out what your responsibility is in all His promises for you. Just saying ‘ amen , I receive ’ to all the prophetic declarations around your life will take you nowhere.
More often than not, it is laziness and ignorance to personal responsibilities that makes most people victims of false prophets. Whenever promises are not working in your life, you should know the faults can never be with God but you. Bishop Oyedepo put it well by saying “Any faith that makes God absolutely responsible for the outcome of your life is an irresponsible faith”.
In this year of appointed vision, refuse to cast the blame on your pastor, government, and/or friends but rise to take the bull by the horns.
Briefly, let’s look at how you can be a responsible believer in this season.
• COMMITMENT TO KINGDOM SERVICE
Some divine blessings are exclusively for those working in God’s vineyard. They do not answer to fasting and prayers neither can they be claimed by confession or prophetic declaration.
Men that God would visit this year are men who are on active duty. If your vision will speak this year, then recommit yourself to advancing the kingdom with your time, and skills.
Do not be part of irresponsible believers who sit back to score those working in God’s vineyard. Get busy building God’s vineyard through your service and watch God show up for you and your vision.
• BE FOCUSED AND ORGANIZED - Prov 4:25-26
Distraction is one of the baits the enemy uses to keep men from becoming their best. A speaking vision requires staying with an assignment for a long time. Your vision cannot speak if you keep jumping from one thing to the other.
What is keeping some people back in life is that they are too talented; they have many fantastic visions they are pushing concurrently. Visioners are men of one thing at a time. Your vision doesn’t have to be in volume to make a significant impact.
Sit down and remove unnecessary goals from your vision statement.
• DESIGN A GROWTH PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE - Phil 3:12
If there is no growth plan around your life, it will be difficult to monitor your progress in life. As much as we have growth plans for our businesses and careers, we should have for our spiritual life.
Growing up spiritually takes time and planning. You cannot eat any spiritual meal at your disposal and build adequate weight in the spirit. Being victims of the same challenges in an indication of a lack of growth and a pointer to the correct spiritual module that will provide you with the needed capacity for your victory.
Looking at the program of God for your life, do you think praying 1hr each day will give you the required stature needed to function in that calling in the next 5 years? This is a practical approach to designing a growth plan in every area of your life.
May the Lord give the wisdom to build one this year.
• DEVELOP THE REQUIRED COMPETENCE - Gen 41:15
You can carry grace and still be competent in whatever God has called you to do. Every vision is meant to proffer an answer to a problem somewhere.
Grace can locate you for a contract, but it takes adequate competence to deliver. For example, if God has given you a vision to the business world; go to those who do business professionally and learn the discipline and wisdom of doing business. If not, you will finish the business before it sees the light of the day.
If it demands that you attend a short course in a business school, go for it. It will make a difference in the way you approach business. May your vision speak among the kings this year as you embrace the necessary competence needed for your vision.
Amen
